The islands of the Whitsundays can also be accessed from the mainland by ferry from Airlie Beach or Shute harbour. Blue ferries run regular services to all of the resorts and Fantasea Cruises which is an affiliated company, runs regular day trips to both the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach for patrons of most of the resorts. Nearly all the resorts run their own dive programs and it is possible to do your dive certification during your stay. Weddings and honeymoons are major industry in the Whitsundays and nearly all the resorts have specialized facilities including chapels ,wedding cars, catering and the like and they all have wedding coordinators to help you plan and enjoy your nuptials.
